Alone

Long deep silence…

Then the sudden loneliness…

I opened my eyes slowly

Hoping for the bright day light

But instead my heart trembled

To see the same dark night.

Pain was immense

Now even hope made no sense

I wanted to shout aloud

But there was no one around.

My heart skipped a bit

But I still waited for

Time’s little hint.

Then minutes turn into hours

And hours to days,

Then  again days to years,

And now I can only count

My countless tears…

But I still keep on waiting

May be for a kin…

With each passing day

Burning the self within.

Every day with the sunset

I kept hoping less

Life is a game of chess

And every step is just a guess.

And I am check mate

That’s all is the game of my fate

Then long deep silence

And still the loneliness prevails…
